Albert Álvarez

My fascination with photography and lighting sparked when I was just a kid, and it`s still one of my greatest passions today. This led me to study Cinematography at ESCAC in 2005, where I began to shape my eye and my craft. Soon after graduating I started working as an electrician in films and commercials, while also taking on smaller projects as a gaffer and DOP. Over the years, I've been fortunate enough to keep learning alongside some of the industry's most inspiring gaffers and directors of photography.
In 2017, my journey took me to Vancouver, Canada, where I joined the IATSE Local 891 union. There, I had the opportunity to discover different ways of working, which helped me grow professionally and personally.
Nowadays, I'm based in Barcelona, working as a gaffer on both nacional and internacional productions, driven by the same spark that first hooked me on photography.
