Carlos Melville
Born and raised in West London, England, I left school in 1980 at the age of 16 and began my career as an electrician apprentice at the film and television lighting company, Lee Electric Lighting Ltd in Wembley, London. 40 years? In that time, I was fortunate and privileged to work around the world on many major films, television series, outside broadcasts, and big-budget commercials, to which I have dedicated the last 28 years of my career since my arrival in Spain in the early nineties. I spent the first 15 years living and working in Malaga, in the south of Spain, and since 2006 I am (installed, located) based in the beautiful city of Barcelona, where I have had the privilege of working for many cinematographers and directors. top-level internationals in numerous prestigious projects. In 2013, I was proud to be asked to join Backlight Crew S.L, a Barcelona-based company that provides internationally renowned Gaffers and world-class lighting technicians to the industry. I hope the next 40 years are just as fun.
